Hi all! Sorry, I'm still in the process of uploading all of my work from the Storyboarding class. Although, I'm getting sidetracked and I think I might do an offshoot of monsters since I really like the water nymph I made. Honestly, the dots took me forever!
Anyway, I also need to prep for Anime USA too. I bought some moleskins that I will fill with sketches and perhaps sell at the convention.
Sorry I don't have much of anything, atm. I'm sitting a gallery at the Torpedo Factory. Yay! Gallery-sitting!
Peace~

Storyboarding Class
So random! I really liked my story boarding class. Anyway, for the final I was unable to complete most of the work, which is really disappointing (and unfair for everyone in the class). Since I put so much effort towards certain things (and due to lack of time, less on others), I'm going to post the assignments up here too.
Also (please don't steal!) but also...I'M really irritated with my history of video gaming class. That class's RIDICULOUS requirements, gave me less time to do work for my storyboarding class. SO POOH TO YOU HISTORY OF VIDEO GAMING CLASS. I had to make 6-8 minute videos every week on a game I reviewed....so I had to play the game (and most games you can't play for an hour to get anything, so I'm stuck playing some random game for about 6 hours to get to any story), then I had to research the game (so I can get the ending of the story and other information), then I had to write 2-4 paragraphs about gameplay (well 2 is required but that doesn't get you an A it gets you a C...yeah, I know, WTF), AND THEN I had to record me playing it WHILE explaining it (editing the video etc.) and then post it. PLUS I still had to respond to other peoples posts and the discussion post. UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. If I knew how to take art and put it into a game engine I would've done that assignment instead! But no...I don't know and I didn't want to spend even more time teaching myself...so I was doomed from the start.

Lastly
So the last time I posted was almost (!) a year ago. Whodathunkit? Ah~ I just wanted to use whodathunkit in context somewhere.
Well, this semester (going to totally pass over laster semester since it was, well an epic-fail) I have storyboard and another video game history class.
Yay.
Anyway, I really like my storyboarding class, and I'll put up some stuff from that up soon too.
I'm really going to try and keep this up. That and my website.
I'll be honest, I'm losing my thunder that used to back my lightning in terms of game design in general. Is that what I really want to do? Is it not? I don't know.
And I'm pretty lost about it. So any thoughts on the subject (for thoes of you who actually read my blog) would be superb.
Well, this is gonna be short since my lunch break is over, ya'll.
Projects I'm working on that aren't school related: 25 Pokemon Pin-up gals (because I'm weird like that, and I like pin-ups and I like pokemon); the Sketchbook Project (google that. or wait 'til I upload more about it); and Anime USA table work (any suggestion would be fantabulous!)

Animated Pursuits
Even though, I know this is my character design blog, but animation..well, that is part of a character is it not? So I'm going to put up my last semester's pursuits up on how I did with animation. I'm not the greatest animated, but I think I did pretty well, no?
Also using a pre-set character that's already modeled and all you have to do is animated it IS A GODSEND! I love it way more than modeling, rigging, then having to animate. I mean, you can focus so much more on just the animating part is was way quick for me to animate this walk. Like maybe...I don't know, a few hours?
Bouncy little bugger, ain't she? I really like the bounce in her hair and step. XD

Finishing Up
So I'm finishing up coloring for Ningen Manga and I really like how everything turned out. Yeah! Awesome! XD I've tried a new coloring technique with them as well so it's been taking forever to color! I wanted to bring in the feel of the comic-bookiness that was in the previous Women's Studies' prelim sketches so first I had to lay down flat color. Then I put flat shades and some highlights (think like cell-shaded). Then I blended them via hand (or tablet...whichever!) It's better to use the brush and blend it by hand rather than blurring it or smudging it with any other tools, I think.
Here's a taste! XD

I'm also rather proud of my little fella that I animated for my animation class. For my editorial illustration class (like way back) I drew some little pudgy stick figure fellas for an assignment to make an illustration for a newspaper article. It had something to do with how organic food purchases are so expensive. So I had one little fella give an arm and a leg (literally) to a another fella grocer. It was a very pudgy piece of arm and leg, and for some reason pudgy body parts like that tickle my humor bone. =) So my poor pudgy stick figures are de-limbed most of the time...

Animation
Yay! I'm stuck doing an animation for class. Although, you know, I'm taking an animation class, so it's quite obvious that I would do that.
So, I also have work to do for Ningen Manga and that's due Monday. Coloring and all.
I'm also thinking of doing a graphic novel with my fiancé's father. He has a story and I like taking on impossible projects. So that's all. I know I haven't uploaded any images. I'm a bit hesitant since it's a character design blog, I don't like people stealing stuff. It's such a double-edge sword. I want to show off my work, but I don't want people to steal it and it basically involves me trusting the vast scopes and eye balls on the internet.
I need to think of a way to protect my work but still show it off, so I was working on a copyright/watermark but it makes the art look ridiculous. >.> And making is small isn't going to work either. So I think I'll put a copyright on and make it a decent size but not too large or detailed. You all will just have to tell me if you've seen my art around being claimed by someone else. You think you can do that for me? That'd be great! XD And for that, I will make sure I have images for download for free, like wallpaper or paper designs and the like. Yay! Don't you just love freebies?
As for the 50 different words to base characters around, I'm open to suggestions however, I'm going to pick them randomly right now and not think about them...or I'm going to pick a random word from the dictionary and do it that way. XD Yay randomness! Actually, I'll just use this random word generator.
