Welcome to my Fire!

Being that I want to be an character designer/animator when I grow up,
I figured I should start publishing my stuff online. Thus "Character Spit" was born!
Please enjoy the tasties.

BBQ for Thought

Although my greeting mentions me being a designer when I grow up, I don't think I'm ready to. Or I missed the growing up stage, missed the grown-up stage, and now I'm at the old age stage. I can't do things like I used to. I used to be so much faster at doing work. I used to have a boost of crazy stress-energy before a project is due...now I'm just kinda slow all over. And if I get stressed, I get frazzled and bonkers. I can't handle it anymore. I just can't. Guh. I'm old.

Finishing Up

So I'm finishing up coloring for Ningen Manga and I really like how everything turned out. Yeah! Awesome! XD I've tried a new coloring technique with them as well so it's been taking forever to color! I wanted to bring in the feel of the comic-bookiness that was in the previous Women's Studies' prelim sketches so first I had to lay down flat color. Then I put flat shades and some highlights (think like cell-shaded). Then I blended them via hand (or tablet...whichever!) It's better to use the brush and blend it by hand rather than blurring it or smudging it with any other tools, I think.

Here's a taste! XD

I'm also rather proud of my little fella that I animated for my animation class. For my editorial illustration class (like way back) I drew some little pudgy stick figure fellas for an assignment to make an illustration for a newspaper article. It had something to do with how organic food purchases are so expensive. So I had one little fella give an arm and a leg (literally) to a another fella grocer. It was a very pudgy piece of arm and leg, and for some reason pudgy body parts like that tickle my humor bone. =) So my poor pudgy stick figures are de-limbed most of the time...
